Ranching is a skill that takes place on your Home Plot, but recent updates allow friends to offer essential Multiplayer Ranching assistance, particularly with daily animal chores and maintaining the supply chain.

Assisting with Animal Care

The most significant group feature allows friends to assist with the daily routine of caring for your livestock, with shared XP as a benefit.

Shared Chores and XP

  • Plot Access: Guide your friends to your Home Plot and have them ring your Barn Bell to gain entry to your animal enclosures.
  • Assisted Care: Once inside, visitors can pet, feed, and collect items (like milk, eggs, or wool) from your animals.
  • Experience Share: Both the owner and the visitor receive shared experience from performing these tasks.
  • Owner Loot: Remember, all collected items are automatically sent directly to the animal owner's inventory.

Trust and Permissions

  • Granting Access: Use the permissions menu on the animal roster table to manage access. Granting a friend editor permissions allows them to feed most standard treats to your livestock.
  • Owner-Only Treats: The highest-value items - the Immaculate Confection Biscuit, Divine Donut, and Fast-Grow Cookie - remain reserved for the animal owner to feed.

Supporting the Supply Chain

Ranching heavily relies on resources from other skills to create Animal Feed. Group is crucial for maintaining the required high volume of materials.

Resource Farming

  • Gardening Focus: Grains (wheat, barley, etc.) are the base for Animal Feed. You can invite party members to your plot to help with watering and weeding your crops, or request raw materials.
  • Targeted Parties: Join Hunting or Bug Catching parties to efficiently gather the Hides or Bug parts needed to craft specialized feed that increases the chance of star-quality Ranching products.

Community Trading

  • Request System: Ranchers should regularly use the in-game Request system to ask friends or server members for large stacks of raw Grains and other feed ingredients.
  • High-Value Returns: Use your quality Ranching products (like star-quality milk and eggs) to fulfill requests from others, building goodwill and supporting Cooking group sessions for high-value Focus Foods.
