Mining Party Guide

Mining is a resource-intensive skill where cooperation is highly encouraged and essential for acquiring the rarest materials. Like Foraging, multiple players hitting the same resource node receive full, separate loot and XP.
Direct Group Mechanics
The primary benefit of group Mining is the efficient and equitable gathering of scarce ore and stone.
Shared Loot
- Efficient Clearing: Hitting nodes as a team clears them faster, allowing the group to move quickly to the next spawn.
- Tiered Nodes: This works for all sizes and types of nodes, from small Copper to large Palium.
- Proximity Loot: When mining nodes near party members, you'll automatically receive loot from nodes they mine, even if you didn't land a hit. The shared loot is identical for all nearby party members and has a chance to be doubled!
Palium Nodes
- High Value: Palium Ore is the rarest ore and is necessary for endgame tools and crafting. It is the primary target for organized Mining groups.
- Group Etiquette: If you find a Palium node, you should call it out in Server Chat (e.g., "Palium @ G8" or "Pali near Hideaway Bluff").
- Wait: Wait a reasonable time for interested players ("omw") to arrive and get their hit before destroying the mining node.
Indirect Group: Resource Flow
Mining resources are the foundation for the Furniture Making skill and other crucial crafts.
Processing and Supply
- Smelting: Raw ore must be processed into metal bars (Copper, Iron, Palium) using a Smelter. Group partners often focus on supplying the raw ore to a designated crafter who handles the smelting.
- Stone: Raw stone is used to create Ceramic and Carved Stone, which are essential for various structures and furniture.
Community Trading
- Requests: Mining partners can regularly use the in-game Request system to ask for large stacks of raw ore or metal bars from friends who specialize in the skill.
- Fulfilling Requests: Use your surplus stone and metal to fulfill requests from your Furniture Making or Ranching friends, ensuring a healthy flow of materials within the Palia community.
Tools and Progression
Having the appropriate tool tier is necessary to access all types of ore and maximize gathering speed.
Pickaxe Requirements
- Standard Pickaxe: Required for Iron Ore.
- Fine Pickaxe: Required for Silver and Gold Ore.
- Exquisite Pickaxe: Required for Palium Ore and maximizes efficiency on all nodes.
- Mining Node Tiers: Larger mining nodes require a higher tier pickaxe.
Tracking and Flares
- Flares: Use Flare Arrows (bought from Hassian) to mark the exact location of a rare resource like Palium, helping others easily locate your callout.
- Server Hopping: Mining groups often coordinate to check various locations for rare nodes and may switch server instances to clear maps with fresh spawns.
