Hosting a Palia Party
guide

As the host, you are the organizer and coordinator of the event. Hosting an activity, especially a large Cooking Party, requires preparation both on your Home Plot in-game and on the planning tool to ensure a smooth, rewarding experience for all attendees.
Preparation and Scheduling
Hosting starts with setting up the event online and preparing your plot in Palia.
Creating the Event
- Set Up: Access the creation tools and provide all necessary details.
- Activity and Recipe: Clearly specify the activity (e.g., "Cooking," "Flow Tree hunt") and the exact dish or resource (e.g., "Celebration Cake").
- Time and Host Name: Enter the Date and Time and, most critically, your exact In-Game Name so attendees know who to add as a friend.
- Define Roles: Set the exact number of participants needed for each unique role (Chopping, Mixing, etc.) and designate spots for Over Prep (OP) players.
- Instructions: Use the description field for important rules:
- When to Arrive (e.g., "Arrive 15 minutes early to allow for server sync").
- What Ingredients to bring (e.g., "Bring 10 Star-Quality Apples for your role").
Preparing Your Plot
- Plot Optimization: Clear excessive decorations, especially around the activity area, to improve loading times and reduce lag for your guests (especially those on Nintendo Switch).
- Station Setup (Cooking): Arrange all required cooking stations (stoves, ovens, cutting boards, mixers) in an easily accessible layout. All necessary Prep Stations for ingredients should be readily available.
- Server Sync: Palia servers can hold about 25-30 people. If you anticipate a large turnout, join your plot 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time and stay there. This helps secure a spot on a fresh server instance.
Running the Party
Your primary role during the event is communication, coordination, and the careful initiation of each round.
Guest Coordination
- Accept Friends: Monitor your in-game Social Menu and quickly accept friend requests from attendees using the name you posted online. They cannot join your plot until they are your friend.
- Final Call: Use the Server Chat or Party Chat to welcome guests and give final instructions (e.g., "Wait for me to say GO to start," or "Only add star-quality ingredients to the prep stations").
- Troubleshooting: Be prepared to give directions and troubleshoot minor issues, such as a player's character not loading fully ("ghosting").
Starting and Completing Rounds
- Initiate: You, as the host, will initiate the first step of the recipe on your assigned cooking station. This officially starts the round.
- Monitor: Keep an eye on the activity and ensure everyone is contributing their ingredients. Remind players of the Synergy effects if applicable (in Cooking) and ensure all roles are flowing smoothly.
- Loot: Once the required number of dishes is completed (e.g., all 4 Cake components are done), the finished items will automatically appear in every participating player's inventory.
- Repeat: Signal the group that the round is finished and initiate the next one!
