Furniture Making Party Guide

Furniture Making is a unique skill in that it has no direct group mechanic during the crafting process. However, it relies entirely on materials gathered by other skills, making it the most resource-dependent skill in the game. Group is about resource acquisition and trade.
Resource Reliance
The Furniture Making skill is only as strong as the other gathering skills. Efficient crafting requires cooperation to stockpile key materials.
Required Resources from Other Skills
- Foraging (Wood): Requires various refined planks (Sapwood, Heartwood, Flow-Infused Wood) made from wood collected via chopping trees.
- Mining (Metal/Stone): Requires refined metal bars (Copper, Iron, Palium) and carved stone or marble collected via mining.
- Bug Catching/Hunting: Requires dyes and fabrics made from various foraged, hunted, or captured materials (silk, hides, colorful beetles).
- Farming: Requires cotton and other refined fibers for fabric.
The Role of the Crafter
The furniture maker's main group role is to refine and assemble the materials into finished furniture sets, often focusing on rare, high-value pieces like the Flow-Infused items.
Group Communication and Trading
Since there is no shared crafting station, cooperation happens through the Request system and party-based resource farming.
Using the Request System
- Request Specific Materials: Use the in-game Request system to ask your friends or other server members for specific refined materials (e.g., Heartwood Planks or Iron Bars).
- Fulfilling Requests: Be sure to "Pay it Forward." If a request for materials helps you craft valuable furniture, fulfill requests for others to keep the community resource pool flowing.
Resource Farming Parties
- Targeted Group: Join parties focused on gathering the specific material you need. For example, joining a Flow Tree Grove party is the fastest way to get Flow-Infused Wood for rare furniture.
- Supply Your Group: If you are the dedicated furniture maker, offer to make furniture pieces for your group in exchange for them supplying the necessary raw wood or ore.
Crafting and Customization
Furniture Making allows for unique customization through Dyes and different wood types.
Customization
- Dyes: Furniture can be customized with Dyes, which are often created from foraged flowers and captured bugs. Coordinating with a group's gatherers can ensure you have a wide palette of colors.
- Sets: Focus on completing full furniture sets, as these often require a large, consistent supply of a few specific materials (e.g., Kilima Furniture Set requires lots of Sapwood).
Tools and Workbenches
- Workbenches: You must use the Heavy Workbench (unlocked via Tish) to craft most intermediate and advanced furniture recipes.
- Refining Stations: Ensure your home plot has all the necessary refining stations (Sawmill, Smelter, Fabric Loom) to process raw materials supplied by your group partners.
