Group Foraging is essential for obtaining Flow-Infused Wood and maximizing rare drops. The main rule is simple: everyone who contributes to felling a tree receives full loot and XP.

Core Group Foraging Mechanics

The primary benefit of group Foraging comes from trees, particularly the rare, regenerative Flow Trees.

Flow Trees and Groves

  • Flow Trees are identified by their purple/pink glow and regenerate health quickly, making them difficult or impossible to chop down alone.
  • Flow Tree Groves are group spawns that appear once per Palian day, and almost always require a group effort to fell all the trees.
  • Proximity Loot: When chopping trees near party members, you'll automatically receive loot from trees they chop, even if you didn't land a hit. The shared loot is identical for all nearby party members and has a chance to be doubled!

Shared Loot

  • Trees: All players who tag a tree with one hit get the loot. If you are in a party, players near the felling also have a chance to receive loot.
  • Gatherables: Rare plants, spices, and mushrooms (like Dari Cloves and Heartdrop Lily) remain available for others on the same server to pick up for a few minutes after the first player gathers them (up to 5 minutes for epic items).
  • Proximity Loot: When chopping trees near party members, you'll automatically receive loot from trees they chop, even if you didn't land a hit. The shared loot is identical for all nearby party members and has a chance to be doubled!

Group Etiquette & Communication

Effective communication in Server Chat is key to ensuring everyone can participate in a group chop.

Communication

  • Flow Tree Callouts: Announce the location of single Flow Trees and Groves in Server Chat (e.g., "FT at Lighthouse" or "Grove near Flooded Steps").
  • Response: If you're coming to help, reply with "omw" (on my way).

Group Chop Protocol

  • Tagging: Upon arrival, hit the Flow Tree ONCE with your axe. This hit guarantees you full loot.
  • Waiting: Respect the player who called out the tree. Wait for them or a designated leader to signal "Chop!" before finishing the tree.
  • Axe Tier Awareness: Be mindful of your axe tier. If you have an Exquisite Axe, you may be asked to hold back on very small Flow Trees, as one strong hit can fell it instantly before others can tag it.

Tool Requirements

While any axe can hit a Flow Tree, upgrading your tools is necessary to access all types of wood and to contribute effectively to large trees.

  • Standard Axe (Level 3+): Needed for medium trees (Heartwood).
  • Fine Axe (Level 6+): Needed for large trees (Ancient Wood).
